Portfolio Introduction
Welcome to my portfolio addressing my beliefs and practices when it comes to classroom management! By exploring this digital portfolio you will get a glimpse into my classroom management philosophy as well as introducing my plan in achieving successful management.
Within the management philosophy section sub categories, theories of management, my code of ethics, my personal management plan, and ethical classroom decisions are embedded. In these categories you can get a feel for my beliefs on classroom management. In the section labeled theories of classroom management a break down of both the behaviorist point of view as well as the humanist view. Located in the code of ethics is my personal code of ethics, this focuses on working with students as well as collaborating with others. In my personal management plan I elaborate on some main factors that I see to be essential in creating a successful classroom. Finally in my ethical decisions section I will cover five common, school-related, decisions that may occur. This includes how I as a teacher would respond to each situation.
Additionally, by looking at my classroom management plan in more detail will create snapshot into how I plan on approaching and achieving classroom management throughout the year. The sub categories that will be covered in more depth throughout this section are my ideal classroom layout, rules/guidelines, expectations, classroom procedures, teacher procedures/expectations, positive/negative consequences, classroom community and some tools I will be using to promote positive classroom management. In the ideal classroom segment you can find descriptions of areas within my classroom as well as seeing a top view class layout. Located in the rules/guidelines/expectations section will be the three classroom rules, the class motto and a description of why they are being implemented in my class. Within the procedures section I have highlighted four main procedures that will be used often in the class. Supporting that section is the teaching tools and procedures, in this area you will find my approach to successfully teach the procedures mentioned. The section labeled positive/negative consequences are three consequences describe one focused more positively, one designed to be negative, and the last incorporates both. The community section discusses my tactics for building and maintaining my classroom community through out the year.My final sub section, tools in my toolbox, has resources that have helped or are helping my to create successful classroom management.
