Final Thoughts
By looking in to all of the aspects of my portfolio you will have knowledge of my classroom management philosophy as well as my action plan to achieve classroom management. Application of classroom management is dependent on both of these aspects that are why it is key to have success in both areas. One relies on the other. With in these two sections are sub categories highlighting the main features of each. The classroom management philosophy section is composed of, classroom management theories, my code of ethics, my personal management philosophy, and some essential decisions that may arise in the classroom. In the second section, classroom management plan, there are the sub sections of ideal classroom layout, rules/guidelines/expectations, procedures, teaching rules and procedures, positive/negative consequences, community, and my classroom management toolbox. After exploring this portfolio you should have an understanding of how I view classroom management as well as what steps I plan on taking to achieve classroom management.
Along whith my beliefs and actions concerning classroom management is the idea of reflection. Because attaining and maintaining management is a constantly evolving practice I plan on incorporating a self-reflection process for me as the teacher. Within this process I will identify issues I am having with management, as well as evaluate why these issues are occurring and how I plan on moving forward to benefit the class. By doing this once a week I plan on making management a process that fits the needs of the class as well as the needs of myself. This process will be done in a format similar to the Gibb’s reflection cycle. Because of this process all aspects of the subject are looked at ensuring effectively solving the issue. Below is a template of the reflection process.
